If you’re a social media savvy student, there are plenty of scholarships you can easily apply for!

Scholarship providers often add social media components to scholarships, which is right up your alley.

The cool thing about these awards is that entries can vary from tweets and short-essays to creating and sharing videos and photos on your social media accounts.

Whatever your preference, there’s probably a scholarship to suit your social media skills!

Check out the following scholarships, which all have social media-related components:

$5,000 Social Network Scholarship


Deadline: 1/31/16

Available to: Minimum Age 18 Years

Award Amount: $5,000

You want scholarships and we want to show you our new social network. The post with the highest number of votes at the end of the month wins a $5,000 scholarship.

No GPA, essay, or financial need requirements. Open to all fields of study, this scholarship award must be used for educational expenses.

The scholarship is open to both U.S. and international students.

$5,000 Make an Anti-Smoking Card Scholarship


Deadline: 1/31/16

Available to: Maximum Age 25 Years

Award Amount: $5,000

You could win a $5,000 scholarship just by giving a homemade card to a smoker in your life. Make a card encouraging them to quit, then upload a pic of your card.

Bam! You’ll automatically enter to win $5,000. Yep, that easy! No essay or minimum GPA required.

You must be between the ages of 13 and 25 and be a U.S. or Canadian resident in order to be considered for this award.

Hood Milk Sportsmanship Scholarship


Deadline: 3/11/16

Available to: High School Senior through College Freshman

Award Amount: 18 Awards of $5,000

The Hood Milk Sportsmanship Scholarship program rewards 18 deserving high school student athletes across New England with $5,000 toward furthering their education at a 2- or 4-year accredited college or university.

To be eligible, high school seniors must have proven their ability to put the spirit of competition above winning while participating in a varsity sport. These students must have also earned a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher and performed volunteer work in the community.
Applicants are asked to write a short essay explaining how they display sportsmanship and integrity on and off the field. Each student who meets these standards and completes the essay will then participate in an online voting competition.

The 10 applicants, from each New England state, who have received the most votes will be interviewed by a select panel of judges. The panel of judges will then select three students from each of the six New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont) for a total of 18 scholarships.

Winners will be honored at an awards ceremony and inducted into the Hood Milk Sportsmanship Scholarship Hall of Fame at the TD Garden in Boston.

Applicants must enter online at Hood.com by 3 PM EDT on March 11, 2016. Voting will take place on Hood.com from April 1, 2016, at 9 AM EDT, through April 22, 2016, a 3PM EDT. Good luck!

Dolman Law Group Video Essay Contest


Deadline: 3/15/16

Available to: High School Seniors through College Seniors

Award Amount: $1,100

The Dolman Law Group Video Essay Contest is available to current or prospective college students.

You must submit a 2-3 minute video essay (YouTube format preferred) on the following topic: "Much has been made about the potential of driverless and automated car technology in recent years, and many industry observers expect this technology to be widely available within the next decade.

Technology is never perfect however, and accidents involving driverless vehicles have already occurred.

Various legal issues arise when autonomous cars are involved in accidents, including determining who should be held liable for an accident.

In your opinion, who should be held accountable when a driverless vehicle is involved in an accident? The owner? The manufacturer? The software developer?"

Additionally, you must be in good academic standing with your current educational institution to qualify for this bi-annual award.

Andrew Flusche Scholarship Contest

Deadline: 6/3-/16

Available to: High School Seniors through Graduate Students, Year 5

Award Amount: $500

The Andrew Flusche Scholarship Contest is available to high school seniors and students currently enrolled in a college or university.

You must create a public service advertisement video (PSA) which raises awareness of the severity of the consequences of drunk driving among your peers to qualify for this award.

The video must be uploaded to YouTube and be no longer than three minutes long.
