They call it summer break for a reason! Even if you’re working full-time at a camp, fast food joint or business, there is one big time drain missing from your life: homework. Not to mention, there are no after-school clubs, athletics or programs to attend.
That’s a pretty big relief after the busy year you’ve had, right?
Well, while you’re kicking your feet up after work or summer school, it’s important not to slow down on your scholarship search. Fortunately for you, we’ve found summer scholarships that are as equally laid back as your summer break.
Here’s what you need to keep in mind as you apply:
• Log on to Fastweb throughout your summer to see your new scholarships.
• Organize the scholarships for which you want to apply by deadline.
• Start with the most recent, and devote one night each week to applying for scholarships. These summer break scholarships don’t take a lot of time, so you just need to devote one hour a week.
• Just like any other scholarship application, proofread and give each application your best.
So take pen to paper – or fingers to keyboard – and get started on applying for these summer break scholarships.
The Bryce Thomson Scholarship Award
Deadline: August 28, 2015
Available to: High School Seniors through College Juniors
Award Amounts: $3,500 (1), $2,500 (2), $2,000 (1), $1,500 (1) and $1,000 (5)
The Bryce Thomson Scholarship Award is available to high school seniors and college freshman, sophomores and juniors.
You must be employed by an active NICRA member in good standing and demonstrate academic excellence and financial need in order to be considered for this award.

Solutionreach Scholarship
Deadline: August 18, 2015
Available to: College Freshman through College Seniors
Award Amount: $4,000
The Solutionreach Scholarship is open to currently enrolled undergraduate students.
You must be enrolled for at least nine credits, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and submit an essay of between 800 and 1200 words on the following topic in order to be considered for this award: Describe the advantages patient engagement technology offers in regard to bridging the communication gap between patient and provider, and how its implementation can impact long-term health outcomes.

$5,000 Promoting Healthy Relationships Scholarship
Deadline: June 30, 2015
Available to: Students 25 years or younger
Award Amount: $5,000

"From Failure to Promise" Essay Contest
Award Amount: $10,000 for first place, $500 (3) Honorable Mentions

Available To: High school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students
The "From Failure to Promise" Essay Contest is open to high school seniors, undergraduate, and graduate students who hold at least a 2.5 GPA.
To be considered, you must submit an essay of at least 1,500 words that addresses the following three topics:
Which tracks of the book "From Failure to Promise - 360 degrees" presented or reiterated the most important life lessons for you and why, which factor was the most vital to the author's evolution in going from "flunk-out" to "professor and how does the "Seven Spheres of Influence and Integration Model" affect your worldview as related to civic responsibility.

Brilliance Scholarship

Available to: High School Juniors, undergraduate students and graduate students
Award Amount: $1,500
The Brilliance Scholarship is available to creative students that demonstrate an interest of designing beautiful, unique jewelry.
You must create an original diamond ring design and submit one to two paragraphs (up to 200 words) about the design and its inspiration to qualify for this award.
Designs will be judged on overall look, creativity, and the design’s inspiration.

Storage.com Scholarship Contest
Deadline: August 1, 2015
Available to: High School Seniors through College Seniors
Award Amount: $2,500
The Storage.com Scholarship Contest is open to current undergraduate students and soon-to-be freshmen students.
You must submit an essay of between 250 and 500 words that describes what experiences, lessons, and opportunities you hope to pack into your years in school.
A short video of no more than 15 seconds may be submitted via Instagram or YouTube detailing what you are looking forward to most in college.

Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest
Deadline: October 23, 2015
Available to: High School Seniors, undergraduate students and graduate students
Award Amount: $20,000
The Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest is open to high school seniors, college undergraduates and graduate students.
You must submit an essay of between 800 and 1600 words on a topic related to Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged.
The three topic choices are listed on the sponsor's website and essays will be judged on style and content.
