Scholarships for Women Returning to College

More education is always a good idea. And, regardless of the reasoning behind your decision to take a break from school or to return, there are scholarships to help you hop back on the educational track.

These organizations, schools and programs help support women who have the goal of returning to college.

If you’re a non-traditional or returning female student, these scholarships can help you achieve your educational goals:

ASIST Scholarship


Deadline: Varies

Available to: Non-traditional College Freshmen through College Seniors

Award Amount: 13 Awards from $2,000-$10,000

The ASIST Scholarship is available to non-traditional students who are entering college for the first time, or students who are re-training. You must demonstrate financial need, be at least 18 years old, and reside within the boundaries of an Executive Women International chapter to be eligible for this award. You must also be socially, physically, and / or economically challenged and have clearly defined career goals and objectives.

P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education


Deadline: Varies

Available to: Non-traditional College Juniors through Graduate Students, Year 3

Award Amount: $2,000

The P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education is available to female students in the United States and Canada. You must be a citizen of the US or Canada and attend a college or university in the US or Canada. You must be within 24 months of completing your educational goal and have spent at least 24 consecutive months as a non-student during your adult life to be eligible for this award. Students in doctoral and professional degree programs are not eligible.

Executive Women International, Chattanooga Chapter, Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) Scholarship

Available to: Non-traditional/Returning College Freshmen through College Sophomores

Award Amount: Varies

You could win an easy $3,000 scholarship by demanding that retailers provide more Halloween costumes in the women’s section that aren’t provocative or “sexy”. (We’ll provide sample photos and captions to post on social media!) This will ensure that there are more inclusive (and less sexist) Halloween costumes for everyone. Plus, you’ll enter to win a $3,000 scholarship!

Executive Women International Scholarship


Deadline: Varies

Available to: Non-traditional/Returning College Sophomores

Award Amount: $2,104

The Executive Women International Scholarship is open to sophomores at Boise State University. To be considered for the award, you must be majoring in business, demonstrate financial need, be a non-traditional student and be a resident of Ada or Canyon Counties (Idaho).

Executive Women International - Rochester Chapter Scholarship

Available to: Non-traditional/Returning College Sophomores

Award Amount: Varies

The Executive Women International - Rochester Chapter Scholarship is available to continuing students at Rochester Community and Technical College. This scholarship is awarded to students with financial need, social or physical disadvantages, displaced homemakers, and heads of household with small children and at-risk adults.
