Volunteer & Community Service Scholarships

Giving your time to help those in need is noble. After all, everyone is busy with school, work, family and a social life. But, volunteers make it a priority to reach out and lend a hand - without asking for anything in return.

And, though volunteers don't ask for anything in return, it doesn't mean they can't get anything in return. In fact, by giving back to your community, you have the chance to put money toward you college education as well!

Available to: Maximum Age 25 Years

Award Amount: $2,000

Andrew Flusche Scholarship Contest


Deadline: 6/30/16

Available to: High School Seniors through Graduate Student, Year 5

Award Amount: $500

The Andrew Flusche Scholarship Contest is available to high school seniors and students currently enrolled in a college or university. You must create a public service advertisement video (PSA) which raises awareness of the severity of the consequences of drunk driving among your peers to qualify for this award. The video must be uploaded to YouTube and be no longer than three minutes long.

$3,000 Easy Scholarship: Make a Playlist to Take Shorter Showers


Deadline: 6/30/16

Available to: High School Freshmen through Graduate Student, Year 5

Award Amount: $3,000

You could win an easy $3,000 scholarship just by making a five-minute playlist to remind friends to take shorter showers! Send your playlist to someone you know so they can keep their shower under 5 minutes. That’ll save up to 1,500 gallons of water and automatically enter to win a $3,000 scholarship. Win-win!

$5,000 Easy Scholarship: Make Birthday Cards for Kids in Homeless Shelters

Available to: Maximum Age 25 Years

Award Amount: $5,000

You could win an easy $5,000 scholarship just by making birthday cards for children experiencing homelessness. It’s so easy to send a handmade card to make a child smile on their birthday (we’ll show you how!). Advanced Institute for Oral Health Scholarship


Deadline: 7/01/16

Available to: High School Seniors through College Freshmen

Award Amount: $500

The Advanced Institute for Oral Health Scholarship is available to rising freshman students.

You must be planning to attend an accredited university in the upcoming school year, have a minimum GPA of 2.7 and be a resident of the U.S.

Write a 300 word essay (400 words max) on “How you plan to positively impact the world with your degree?”

$5,000 Easy Scholarship: Use Your Phone to Unlock a Donation!

Available to: College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5

Award Amount: $5,000

Help local libraries by playing a fun, interactive game on your phone! Sign up to play a texting game where you’ll use your reading skills to solve puzzles. You’ll be able to unlock a donation to a local library from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. By playing and sharing the game, you’ll also gain entry to win a $5,000 scholarship. Youth Forward Scholarship


Deadline: 8/01/16

Available to: High School Freshmen through College Seniors

Award Amount: 3 Awards of up to $1,500

Provided by the National Driving and Traffic School, the Youth Forward Scholarship is open to current high school and college students.

You must submit an essay of no more than 500 words on your commitment to volunteerism in order to be considered for this award.

BloodCenter of Wisconsin Summer Scholarship


Deadline: Varies

Available To: High School Senior through Graduate Student, Year 5

Amount: 11 Awards from $200-$1,000

The BloodCenter of Wisconsin Summer Scholarship is available to full-time college students, and high school students who are scheduled to graduate at the end of the 2015-2016 school year or have graduated at the end of the 2014-2015 school year.

To enter, you must meet the minimum criteria to donate blood and make a blood donation.

Your name will be entered into a scholarship drawing for each blood donation made in your name.

Volunteer Service Contest Scholarship – Western Michigan University

The Volunteer Service Contest Scholarship is open to students at Western Michigan University who are registered for at least one credit hour.

To be considered for this award, you must have done some sort of volunteer or community service within the last two years.

Women and Leadership Program, Panama City

The Women and Leadership Program, Panama City is open to female students from around the world who are interested in participating in a four-week program in Panama City, Panama, that includes: university courses, cultural activities and community service.

Prospective students are evaluated based on the quality of application and may be contacted for an interview.
