Some careers tend to be male-dominated, but that’s about to change. At least in the case of the below industries, which are now hiring more female employees than ever. In fact, they’re actively seeking females to join the fields!
Hire More Women In Tech reports that “Companies in the top quartile for gender diversity are 15 percent more likely to have financial returns above their respective national industry medians.” With that number, it’s clear why these industries would be looking to diversify their cultures.
Hire More Women In Tech also reports that “Companies in the bottom quartile both for gender and for ethnicity and race are statistically less likely to achieve above-average financial returns than the average companies in the data set (that is, bottom-quartile companies are lagging rather than merely not leading).”
According to HonestCollege and Deseret News, these are the industries that females may want to look into, because they’re going out of their way to recruit women and create more diverse workplaces.

Construction
USAToday reports that the lack of women within the construction industry is nothing new. The good news is that it’s on the rise, with more and more companies actively looking to add women to their rosters. With 7.1 million workers in the field and only 2.6 percent of that number being women, it’s no wonder that companies are looking for smart, capable women to join their teams.

However, PennLive reports that police forces see strong advantages to having both genders represented within law enforcement. Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) Fields
Having women in technology and engineering positions makes sense, but many women tend to stay away from the fields. Whether this is based on gender roles engrained within culture or a systemic push for these fields to become male-dominated is for you to decide. But, females are becoming more and more valued within STEM-related fields than ever before. The proof is shown in the numbers. Hire More Women In Tech reports that high-performing companies have women in senior management, demonstrating that “Fortune 500 companies with at least three female directors have seen their return on invested capital increase by at least 66%, return on sales increase by 42%, and return on equity increase by at least 53%.”
