High school is filled with some of life’s greatest moments, but also can be very stressful.

You get to attend prom but, then again, there are college applications. Graduation is near but, unfortunately, you also had to take your SATs and ACTs.

Toyota TeenDrive365 Video Challenge


Deadline: 3/07/16

Available to: High School Freshmen through College Freshmen

Award Amount: 4 Awards from $5,000-$15,000

The Toyota TeenDrive365 Video Challenge is an annual contest hosted by Discovery Education and Toyota that challenges teens to create a 60-90 second video that demonstrates the importance of safer teen driving. This year’s challenge is now open and submissions will be accepted through March 7, 2016.

Beginning April 1, a panel of judges will select the top three finalists to win a variety of prizes with the grand prize being a $15,000 scholarship and the opportunity to have the winning video re-shot by a Discovery film crew. This year, the general public will have the chance to vote on the video they feel is the best idea for making teens safer drivers.

Public voting will begin on April 11th and will end April 25th. The winning entry will be honored with the “People’s Choice” award. Grab your camera and seat belt, and get started on your PSA. Register for the challenge today!

Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship


Deadline: 3/25/16

Available to: Maximum Age 18 Years

Award Amount: $2,500

The Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship is open to New England high school seniors who have made meaningful contributions to the area of animal protection over a significant period of time.

Actions that merit the award may include: dedicated long term direct work on behalf of animals; inspiring leadership in animal protection organizations; papers, speeches, presentations on humane topics; or heroic rescues of animals in danger.

My Preparedness Story: Staying Healthy and Resilient Video Challenge


Deadline: 3/28/16

Available to: Ages 14-23
Award Amount: 3 Awards from $500-$2,000

Sponsored by Challenge.gov, the My Preparedness Story: Staying Healthy and Resilient Video Challenge is open to students between the ages of 14 and 23.

You must submit a short video to YouTube of no more than 60 seconds that answers the question "How are you helping family, friends and community protect their health during disasters and every day?" in order to be considered for this award.

Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Program


Deadline: 3/31/16

Available to: High School Students; Ages 13-18

Award Amount: 15 Awards of $5,000

Sponsored by the Coca-Cola Company, the Pay It Forward Program is open to high school students between the ages of 13 and 18. Recipients of this award will receive a mentorship experience at the Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Academy.

The Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Academy is an educational program that is designed to be a valuable resource and empower moms to develop strong future leaders while also preparing teens for college.

Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Academy will provide a wealth of educational seminars, mentoring sessions, scholarships for college, and a three-day retreat in Atlanta to a group of deserving high school teens from across the country. Parents, relatives, friends, and mentors may nominate an aspiring teen for the program.

Project Yellow Light Scholarship

Available to: Ages 17-25

Award Amount: 6 Awards between $1,000-$5,000

The Project Yellow Light Scholarship is available to high school juniors and seniors and full - time undergraduate students. To be considered, you must create a 25- to 55-second video that discourages distracted driving.

AFSA High School Senior Scholarship Contest


Deadline: 4/06/16

Available To: Maximum Age 18 Years

Award Amount: 10 Awards of $2,000

The AFSA High School Senior Scholarship Contest is open to high school seniors who plan to further their education at a college, university, or certified trade school.

To enter, you must read the "Fire Sprinkler Essay" then take an open-book, ten - question multiple-choice test.

Students will receive an entry into a drawing for each question answered correctly.

All I Need Scholarship Slam

Available to: Ages 13-25
Award Amount: $1,000

We all know this familiar question: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what's the one thing you would take with you? You might be quick to answer with your favorite book or an empty journal to fill with all the new existential thoughts you'd have while on an island by yourself.

Well, we want to take this challenge a step further. What is the one thing you can't live without? Is it a person, an object, or even an idea that you hold close to your heart?

Negative Population Growth Written Advertisement Scholarship Contest


Deadline: 4/22/16

Available to: High School seniors through College Juniors
Award Amount: $2,000

The Negative Population Growth Written Advertisement Scholarship Contest is open to high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors.

You must create a written advertisement of between 100 and 200 words that is suitable for a magazine or a newspaper that persuades the general public to support programs that are designed to slow, halt and eventually reverse U.S. population growth.

You must also be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident to qualify for this award.

Fountainhead Essay Contest


Deadline: 4/29/16

Available to: Ages 16-18

Award Amount: 236 Awards from $50-$10,000

The Fountainhead Essay Contest is open worldwide to 11th and 12th graders.

You must write an essay of no fewer than 800 and no more than 1,600 words on a topic relating to Ayn Rand's novel, "The Fountainhead." Topics can be found on the sponsor's Web site.

Essays are judged on both style and content. The winning essay must demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the philosophic meaning of "The Fountainhead."

Available to: High School Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5

Award Amount: $1,000

The E-waste Scholarship is available to high school, undergraduate or graduate students.

Paradigm Challenge


Deadline: 5/01/16

Available to: Maximum Age 18 Years

Award Amount: 100 Awards from $500-$100,000

The Paradigm Challenge is available to students up to the age of 18. You may work in a team or alone in creating an original and creative way to generate new ideas in preventing injuries and fatalities from home fires—America’s #1 disaster threat.

Entries may come in the form of posters, videos, inventions, messages, community events, websites, mobile apps, or anything else that will help save lives.

Additionally, you must submit a brief statement of your idea (140 characters or less) in order to qualify for this award.

$2,000 Disaster Preparation Scholarship


Deadline: 5/01/16

Available to: High School Freshmen through College Seniors

Award Amount: 3 Awards of $2,000

The $2,000 Disaster Preparation Scholarship is open to current high school and college students.

You must create a video that shows how properly planning for a hurricane or other flood disaster can be a valuable tool and upload it to YouTube in order to be considered for this award.

LGMD Awareness Scholarships


Deadline: 5/25/16

Available to: Ages 17-30

Award Amount: 4 Awards of $3,000

Provided by the Jain Foundation, the LGMD Awareness Scholarships reward students for teaching others about Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophies, often referred to as LGMDs.

There are two scholarship categories, merit-based and social media based.

A total of four $3000 scholarships will be awarded in 2016. The scholarship money can be used for tuition, books, and equipment required for education courses.

Students may apply for both scholarship categories but students will be awarded at most one scholarship.

American Legion National High School Oratorical Contest


Deadline: Varies

Amount: $18,000

Ages: High School Freshmen through High School Seniors

The National High School Oratorical Contest is open to junior high and high school students who are under the age of 20 and citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States.

You must prepare an oration on some aspect of the U.S. Constitution, with some emphasis on the duties and obligations of citizens to our government.

A complete list of topics are available on the Legion's Web site. Each individual state winner certified into and participating in the first round of the national contest receives an additional $1,500 scholarship.

Optimist International Oratorical Contest


Deadline: Varies

Available To: Maximum Age 18 Years

Award Amount: $2,500

The Optimist International Oratorical Contest is open to students under the age of 19.

To be considered for this award, you must prepare a 4 to 5 minute speech on the topic, "How My Passions Impact the World" to be presented at your local Optimist Club's contest.

Dizzy Feet Foundation Scholarship


Deadline: Varies

Amount: $10,000

Ages: Ages 15 and Older

The Dizzy Feet Foundation Scholarship is open to students who are at least 15 years of age who are studying at an accredited dance school, studio, university or other institution.

You must be a U.S. citizen and demonstrate talent, technical skill and dance expression to be considered for this award.

You must be nominated by your school in order to qualify for this award.

Ventures Scholars Program

Ages: High School Freshmen to College Freshmen

The Ventures Scholars Program is open to underrepresented and first-generation college-bound students.
