Internships and fellowships, specifically for women, enhance the lives of females through unique educational opportunities.

Here are some great internship and fellowship opportunities celebrating accomplished females:

Internships for Women


Woman Made Gallery Graphic Design Internship


Ages: College Freshmen through College Seniors

Provided by the Woman Made Gallery, the Graphic Design Internship is available to students show focus on one specific area such as communications, research, design, and artisan gallery. You must be proficient with Photoshop or similar design software; Adobe Illustrator and InDesign a plus to be considered for this position.

Photographers especially welcome. As an intern, you will be responsible for numerous projects related to the Woman Made’s public relations.

Women and Leadership Program, Panama City


Ages: Female College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5

Provided by the Leadership exCHANGE, the Women and Leadership Program, Panama City is open to female students from around the world who are interested in participating in a four-week program in Panama City, Panama, that includes: university courses, cultural activities and community service.

Prospective students are evaluated based on the quality of application and may be contacted for an interview.

Ms. Magazine Internship


Ages: Female College Freshmen through College Seniors

Provided by Feminist Majority, the Ms. Magazine Editorial Internship is open to undergraduate female students to work with the editorial staff at Ms. Magazine's West Coast Office.

You must be resourceful and have excellent research and writing skills to qualify for this award.

Interns help gather and fact-check information, work on specific office projects, and participate in creating the magazine's National News section.

To apply, mail or e-mail a cover letter, resume, writing sample (journalistic writing preferred), and two letters of recommendation or two references.

Historic House Interpreter (Women)


Ages: Female College Freshmen through College Seniors

The Historic House Interpreter (Women) at Mackinac Island Historic Parks is available to female students who are at least 18 years or older (as of the first date of the internship) and demonstrate an interest in historical interpretation.

You must be out-going, enthusiastic, have strong public contact and speaking skills to be considered for this internship. Interns will greet each visitor as they enter and interpret the history of the building and the people associated with it.

Internships last for 12 weeks starting in early June through late August. Positions are unpaid but housing is provided. Please visit the sponsor's web site for additional information.

Women Airforce Service Pilots Internship


Ages: Female College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5

The Women Airforce Service Pilots Internship is available to female students pursuing opportunities for women’s aviation studies. You must have strong verbal and written skills and the ability to work independently and in groups.

Also, you must demonstrate ability to deal effectively, tactfully and pleasantly with volunteers, staff, program participants and Museum visitors.

Additionally, you must be a current EAA member or be recommended by an EAA member to qualify for this award. Interns must be at least 18 years of age by the start of the internship.

Herman Family Fellowship for Women in Entrepreneurship


Ages: Female Graduate Students, Year 1 through Year 2

The Herman Family Fellowship for Women in Entrepreneurship is available to female students at the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business.

You must have entrepreneurial interests to be eligible for this renewable award.

Anna Rosenzweig Memorial String/Cello Fellowship


Ages: Female College Juniors through Graduate Students, Year 5

The Anna Rosenzweig Memorial String/Cello Fellowship is available to upperclassmen and graduate students at Arizona State University, School of Music.

You must be a string major, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need to qualify for this award.

Preference is given to female students who specialize in cello.

Janice Lee Fenske Excellence in Fisheries Management Fellowship


Ages: Female Graduate Students, Year 1 through Year 5

The Janice Lee Fenske Excellence in Fisheries Management Fellowship is open to graduate students enrolled in the Michigan State University, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

You must be enrolled in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife and have demonstrated excellent academic credentials, a history of employment and/or volunteer activities in the field of fisheries management and/or in academic or civic communities and potential for future leadership in fisheries management to be eligible for this award.

Preference shall be given to female students.

Littman Family Fellowship

The Littman Family Fellowship is available to female students at the New Jersey Institute of Technology School of Architecture.

You must also be an outstanding overall student with at least a 3.25 GPA to be eligible for this award.

The Pedro Zamora Public Policy Fellowship is open to young professionals, undergraduate and graduate students who seek experience in HIV-related public policy and government affairs.

You must have strong research, writing and organizational skills and a willingness to work in a professional office. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is critical.

Familiarity with HIV-related issues and the legislative process is preferred.

People of color, women, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals, and HIV positive individuals are encouraged to apply.
