Award Amount: $1,000
The Dr. Walter W. Ristow Prize is open to undergraduate, graduate, and first- year postdoctoral students attending colleges or universities anywhere in the world. You must submit a research paper or bibliographic study (7,500 word limit) related to the history of cartography. In addition to a cash award, the winner will receive a one- year membership in the Washington Map Society and have his/ her paper published in "The Portolan," the journal of the Washington Map Society.

The $500 “Because College is Expensive” Scholarship is open to all students (seniors in high school, current undergrads and grad students) and those planning on enrolling within 12 months.
