March, being Women's History Month, is a time to celebrate not only the achievements and accomplishments of the many great women who have paved the way to this modern day, but also to celebrate the opportunities that such accomplishments have opened to the young women of future generations.
Once of the best ways to honor such extraordinary women of the past is to take advantage of the opportunities awarded for your future - opportunities that, without their hard work, determination and efforts, would not be available to you today.
It's no secret that scholarships come in all varieties – race, ethnicity and, of course, gender. However, that's only because of the dedication women of the past put into equal educational opportunities for women.
And, while many still believe there's progress to be made, one of the best ways to do so is by taking your future into your own hands and seizing opportunities, such as scholarships for women.
Many celebrate fierce females by awarding remarkable women in certain fields of study or through various organizations which focus on different aspects, such as women’s studies, the empowerment of women and endowments specifically left to female students.

O Wines Opportunity for Success Scholarship

Available To: High School Seniors through College Freshman
Award Amount: $5,000
The O Wines Opportunity for Success Scholarship is available to female high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in a four-year undergraduate program.
You must have a minimum 3.2 GPA and demonstrate financial need to be eligible for this award.

International Fellowship - American Association of University Women
Deadline: 12/01/15
Available To: Graduate Students, Year 1 through Year 5
Award Amount: $30,000
The International Fellowship is available to female international students pursuing graduate or postgraduate study.
You must have already applied to your proposed graduate institution by the deadline date.
Your selection for this award will be based on academic record, professional potential and the potential to improve the lives of women and girls in your home country.
Preference will be given to women residing in their home countries at the time of application.

Girls Impact the World Film Festival Scholarship
Deadline: 1/15/16
Available to: High School Freshman through College Seniors
Award Amount: $5,000
Sponsored by Connecther, the Girls Impact the World Film Festival Scholarship is available to full-time high school and undergraduate students who are ages 25 and under.
To be considered, you must submit an original, three- to five-minute short film that addresses global women's issues such as: education for girls, maternal health, violence against women and girls, or a variety of other issues.

Lifetime Adoption Foundation Scholarship
Deadline: Rolling
Available To: College Freshman to Graduate Year 5
Award Amount: Varies
The Lifetime Adoption Foundation Scholarship is available to birth mothers who have placed a child for adoption any time after 1990.
You must be able to present verification of finalization from the adoption professional that handled the adoption.
Women that have placed a child for adoption through Lifetime Adoption Center are given priority.
In addition, you must be drug-free, have a minimum 2.0 GPA, and show proof of part- or full-time enrollment, or intention of enrollment in an accredited educational or trade institution to be eligible for this award.
An essay is also required.

Citizens Bank Womens Athletic Scholarship

Available To: College Freshman to College Senior
Award Amount: Varies
The Citizens Bank Womens Athletic Scholarship is open to female students at the University of Rhode Island.
You must be a Rhode Island high school graduate, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate outstanding athletic talent, loyalty, ethics, leadership and discipline to be eligible for this award.

Madeline P. Peterson Scholarship for American Indian Women

Award Amount: $4,000
The Madeline P. Peterson Scholarship for American Indian Women is open to incoming freshman women at the University of Iowa who have a tribal affiliation.
You may renew the award for three additional years (for a total of eight semesters).
The scholarship is intended to financially assist students who otherwise would be unable to attend college.
There is no application required, qualified students are automatically considered.

Pedro Zamora Public Policy Fellowship

The Pedro Zamora Public Policy Fellowship is open to young professionals, undergraduate and graduate students who seek experience in HIV-related public policy and government affairs.
You must have strong research, writing and organizational skills and a willingness to work in a professional office. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is critical.
Familiarity with HIV-related issues and the legislative process is preferred.
People of color, women, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals, and HIV positive individuals are encouraged to apply.

The Women in Wireless Communications Scholarship is available to female students in the College of Technology at Idaho State University.
You must be enrolled in the electronic wireless telecommunications program and demonstrate a strong academic performance, involvement in co-curricular activities and future goals in the field of wireless communications to be eligible for this award.

Provided by the Leadership exCHANGE, the Women and Leadership Program, Panama City is open to female students from around the world who are interested in participating in a four-week program in Panama City, Panama, that includes: university courses, cultural activities and community service.
